Tesla is an American car manufacturer that was founded in 2003 by American entrepreneurs Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpernning, named after Serbian American inventor Nikola Tesla. The company was formed specifically to develop electric sports cars, with funding for the company coming from various sources including PayPal and Elon Musk.
2008 was the year that Tesler released their first car to the public, the completely electric Roadster, which could accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than four seconds and reach a top speed of 125 mph and has since released many more successful models.
