SsangYong is the oldest Korean-based automaker, first founded all the way back in 1954 under the name Ha Dong-Hwan Workshop. Originally the company was renowned for producing commercial trucks, busses, emergency vehicles, heavy duty vehicles and military jeeps, even serving the US Army. Today, the company are still renowned for developing top tier SUVs, vans, trucks and luxury units.
The SsangYong Motor company is currently the third largest automobile manufacturer in South Korea and one of the most recognisable Korean car manufacturers with assembly factories all over the world. SsangYong, in Korean, means two dragons with the literal translation of the official company name being Double Dragons Motor Company.
Today, the SsangYong automotive collection is larger than ever, with popular vehicles available for lease including the Tivoli, Turismo and Korando.
